Trees That Feed Foundation will be planting fruit trees in Jamaica in memory of Richard Bernal, thanks to his wife, Margaret, and their loved ones.

For ten years, Richard was Jamaica’s ambassador to the United States, serving during the tenure of Presidents George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush.

He was a professional economist and published author who also taught at the University of the West Indies and served as pro-vice-chancellor for global affairs there.

TTFF co-founder Mary McLaughlin went to high school in Jamaica with Margaret Bernal. Last year, Margaret saw the value of TTFF’s work firsthand when she visited a school and planted fruit trees there.

We are grateful to Margaret for requesting that donations are made in Richard’s memory to support our mission of planting fruit trees to feed people, create jobs, and benefit the environment.

Trees That Feed Foundation is honored to be part of this remarkable man’s legacy.
